March Writing Update + April Plans! Release month, drafting, and edits
Well, March has been quite the month!
- I published my first book, Before the Sky Breaks
- I started the copyedits for book two
- I finished the newest draft of book three and sent it off to my beta readers
- I started diving into the drafting process of book four (currently 11k words in!)
It’s been quite the crazy leaving curve, trying to figure out this whole publishing thing, but I think I’m starting to get my feet under myself, though it’s still a bit of an uphill battle. Everything is a learning opportunity, and I’m excited to continue on my new journey of being a published author. Though I haven’t had many reviews (yet!), they’ve all been pretty positive and everyone has been extraordinarily welcoming, supportive, and kind.
Anyway, not too much to talk about. But, this month my main goals are:
- Get a newsletter up and running here on the blog (potentially with an exciting freebie for anyone who signs up!)
- Get most, if not all, the copyediting done on book two
- Keep drafting book four (getting to at least 30k words this month would be ideal, but we’ll see)
Anyway, that’s the update for what happened in March and April plans. It’s a small start, but small starts can lead to great things!
Happy reading!
